Job Description

Omaha Christian High School is seeking a passionate and qualified Social Science Teacher to join our faculty. OCHS is committed to providing a biblically immersive learning environment where academic excellence and Christian faith are integrated in every area of instruction. We are looking for an educator who is enthusiastic about teaching social science through a Christian worldview and who desires to invest in the lives of high school students.

The ideal candidate will be a committed follower of Christ, a skilled classroom teacher, and a collaborative team member who values both academic rigor and spiritual formation. This individual will help students think critically, engage thoughtfully with history and society, and grow as disciples of Christ.

Responsibilities

  • Teach social science courses at the high school level.
  • Develop and deliver engaging, standards-based lessons.
  • Integrate biblical truth and a Christian worldview into classroom instruction.
  • Foster a classroom environment marked by respect, curiosity, and academic growth.
  • Assess student learning and maintain accurate grades and records.
  • Communicate effectively with students, parents, and school administration.
  • Collaborate with colleagues and participate in faculty meetings, chapel, conferences, and school events.
  • Use instructional technology and resources to support student learning.
  • Uphold the mission, vision, and statement of faith of Omaha Christian High School.

Qualifications

  • A personal relationship with Jesus Christ and active Christian faith.
  • Agreement with the mission and statement of faith of Omaha Christian High School.
  • Bachelor’s degree required; degree in education, history, political science, sociology, or related field preferred.
  • Nebraska teaching certificate preferred or ability to obtain certification.
  • Experience teaching secondary students preferred.
  • Strong communication, organization, and classroom management skills.
