NOW HIRING: AM Dispatcher – Lightning Logistics
Location: Des Moines, IA
Shift: Tuesday through Saturday 6am-2pm
Pay: Competitive Hourly Pay + Benefits 

We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Dispatcher to join our team. As a Dispatcher, you will play a crucial role in coordinating and managing the transportation of goods and ensuring timely delivery. If you have strong organizational skills and thrive in a fast-paced environment, we want to hear from you.

Duties :

Handling Administrative Communications:

• You will ensure that communication between different hubs is given and accurate.
• You will need to be proficient in sending reports and ensure they are sent out on time and accurately.
• You will need to be able to assist in morning operational administrative duties such as sending out emails per management request, aiding in clearing and hanging route bags as they come in ext.
• Dispatchers need to be punctual and organized.
• You will be required to fill out and send daily operational reports that may be time sensitive or have a deadline.
• You will be required to file and keep track of administrative documents, reports, forms ext.
• You will be required to communicate internally and abroad, keeping all relevant personnel informed in a timely manner.
• As the dispatcher, you will be required to know and conduct basic office operational tasks such as:
• Printing/scanning – Know how to use the printer to copy, print, scan ext.
• Typing – You should be able to type at least 50 words per minute.
• Filing – As stated before, you will need to be organized and can sort and file both electronically and hard copies, so that you are able to find and access them in a timely manner when requested.

Dispatchers should be proficient in the following:

• Customer Service Skills
• Microsoft 365 Programs
• Excel
• Word
• PowerPoint
• Outlook

Adapting to new situations, procedures, tasks ext.

Safety – Everyone, including office personnel, is required to always conduct themselves in a safe manner and to report any safety concerns.

Requirements:

• Previous experience in dispatching or logistics is preferred
• Proficient in data entry and computer systems (experience with Geotab is a plus)
• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
• Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail
• Ability to work well under pressure and prioritize tasks effectively
• Knowledge of transportation management systems and logistics processes
• Familiarity with shipping/receiving procedures
