Pro Action of Steuben and Yates, Inc. is seeking two dedicated and enthusiastic Certified Head Start Teacher to join our Early Childhood Classroom, Jasper Troupsburg, NY. As part of our Head Start Program, you will play a vital role in shaping the educational foundation for young children, fostering a positive and engaging first school experience. This is a 10-month, school calendar-based position, offering the opportunity to work in a supportive team environment committed to helping children and families thrive. Pro Action is proud to offer mentoring and professional development support for those working toward teaching certification.

Responsibilities

• Plan and implement developmentally appropriate pre-K curriculum in alignment with Head Start Performance Standards, New York State Office of Children and Family Services Day Care Regulations, and New York State Education Department Learning Standards.
• Foster a nurturing, inclusive, and engaging classroom environment that supports the social, emotional, and academic growth of preschool-aged children.
• Collaborate with classroom team members to provide comprehensive services to children and families.
• Support children in developing the skills necessary for kindergarten readiness.
• Maintain accurate records and documentation as required by program standards and regulations.
• Participate in ongoing professional development and training opportunities.

Qualifications

• New York State certification in Early Childhood Education or Special Education (Birth to Grade 2) or enrollment in a five-year plan to achieve certification.
• Associate degree in Early Childhood or a related field is acceptable for those working toward certification.
• Experience working with preschool-aged children is beneficial.
• Strong organizational and time management skills.
• Effective communication and teamwork abilities.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation for travel within the service area.
• Successful completion of a background check is required.

Compensation

$21- $24 per hour , based on experience and qualifications. This is a 10-month position following the school calendar.
