Cost Accountant | Coopersville, MI

Salary Range: $71,000 - $105,000 depending on experience

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain standard costs for raw materials, labor, and overhead.
• Analyze manufacturing variances (material, labor, overhead) and report findings.
• Perform inventory valuation and reconcile inventory accounts.
• Prepare detailed cost reports and analyses for management decision-making.
• Support the budgeting and forecasting processes, focusing on production costs.
• Identify and implement cost reduction opportunities and process improvements.
• Monitor and analyze actual production costs against standard costs.

Recommended Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
• 3-5 years of progressive cost accounting experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Proficiency with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) and advanced Microsoft Excel.
• In-depth knowledge of cost accounting principles, standard costing, and variance analysis.
• Experience with inventory valuation, bill of material (BOM) analysis, and manufacturing processes.

Bonus Qualifications

• Experience with advanced ERP costing modules (e.g., SAP CO, Oracle Cost Management).
• Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing principles or Six Sigma methodologies.
• Demonstrated proficiency in data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau).
• Advanced Excel skills (e.g., VBA, Power Query, complex financial modeling).
• Experience with product lifecycle costing or new product introduction costing.
