Cost Accountant | Hudsonville, MI

Salary Range: $66,000 - $99,000 depending on experience

Key Responsibilities

• Analyze manufacturing costs, variances, and production overheads.
• Develop and maintain standard costs for materials, labor, and overhead.
• Perform inventory valuation and cost of goods sold calculations.
• Prepare detailed cost reports and profitability analysis for management.
• Identify cost reduction opportunities and support continuous improvement initiatives.
• Assist in the annual budgeting and periodic forecasting processes.
• Ensure accuracy and integrity of cost accounting data and systems.

Recommended Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• 3-5+ years of progressive cost accounting experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Strong understanding of cost accounting principles, including standard costing, variance analysis, and inventory valuation.
• Proficiency with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) and advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
• Experience with budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis within a production setting.
• Solid analytical skills and meticulous attention to detail.

Bonus Qualifications

• Advanced proficiency with specific ERP modules (e.g., SAP CO, Oracle EBS, Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations).
• Understanding of Lean Manufacturing principles or Six Sigma methodologies.
• Experience with data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau) for enhanced reporting.
• Demonstrated ability to develop complex financial models for 'what-if' cost analysis.
