Job Description

About the Role

As a Project Management Director, Financial &Professional Services (FPS), you will provide executive-level leadership andoversight for project management services across the Americas region, includingNorth, Central, and South America. You will be responsible for theadministration, strategic direction, and operational performance of assignedgeographic markets, programs, and FPS client accounts to ensure alignment withcorporate objectives and client business goals.

This role requires an established presence and professionalexperience in New York. It is not a remote position.

Serving as a market, program, and client account segmentleader, you will operate under the supervision of the Senior Director, ManagingDirector, or Senior Managing Director while maintaining accountability forregional delivery excellence and client satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities

Client & Account Leadership (Americas Region)

  • Serve as the primary executive interface for clients across the Americas, ensuring strategic alignment, operational excellence, and achievement of established goals and objectives.

  • Develop and implement corrective action plans to address performance variances.

  • Anticipate, assess, and proactively respond to evolving client needs and business priorities.

  • Drive business development initiatives, support pursuits, and strengthen cross-functional integration to expand service offerings within the Americas portfolio.

Operational & Project Delivery Oversight

  • Direct all phases of project management including procurement/contracting, initiation, planning, execution, monitoring, controlling, and closeout.

  • Maintain executive oversight of scope, budget, schedule, quality, compliance, and risk management across all assigned programs.

  • Ensure consistent implementation of standardized delivery methodologies across the Americas region.

Quality Assurance / Quality Control (QA/QC)Deliverables

  • Establish and oversee structured QA/QC frameworks across all programs in the Americas.

  • Ensure delivery of:

  • Project execution plans and governance documentation

  • Stage-gate reviews and milestone compliance reporting

  • Budget validation and financial control audits

  • Schedule performance monitoring and variance analysis

  • Risk registers and mitigation tracking documentation

  • Post-project evaluations and lessons-learned reporting

  • Implement continuous improvement initiatives to enhance delivery standards and operational consistency.

Escalation & Governance Leadership

  • Act as the executive escalation point for complex delivery, contractual, financial, or stakeholder issues across the Americas.

  • Lead resolution of high-impact issues requiring cross-functional or executive intervention.

  • Ensure strict adherence to corporate governance policies, contractual obligations, and compliance requirements.

  • Maintain oversight of internal controls and reporting accuracy.

Proactive Risk Management

  • Identify complex and enterprise-level project risks across markets and client portfolios.

  • Lead constructability reviews and risk workshops.

  • Develop mitigation strategies and contingency plans aligned with regional and corporate objectives.

  • Implement forward-looking risk controls to prevent material impact to cost, schedule, quality, or client reputation.

Contract & Commercial Management

  • Oversee compliant and timely contract procurement, negotiation, execution, administration, and closeout.

  • Ensure adherence to corporate, client, vendor, and supplier agreements.

  • Provide executive oversight of financial controls and contract risk exposure.

People & Leadership Management

  • Lead and develop project management teams across the Americas.

  • Ensure consistent understanding and execution of operational policies and procedures.

  • Oversee hiring, compensation, performance evaluations, coaching, training, mentoring, and retention strategies.

  • Motivate and align teams to achieve measurable performance targets with regional impact.

Reporting & Strategic Communication

  • Oversee preparation and delivery of accurate, timely, and comprehensive reports to clients and executive leadership.

  • Lead communication of sensitive or complex information with clarity and authority.

  • Maintain executive-level engagement with industry associations, civic organizations, and professional networks.

Subject Matter Expertise

  • Serve as a recognized subject matter expert in project management best practices within the Financial & Professional Services sector across the Americas.

  • Provide strategic advisory support on complex capital programs and portfolio strategies.

  • Guide implementation of industry standards, including PMP, LEED, CCM, and governance best practices.

  • Contribute thought leadership to internal and external stakeholders.

Qualifications & Experience

Must be authorized to work in the United States without visa sponsorship now or in the future.

  • Bachelor's Degree preferred with a minimum of ten (10) years of relevant experience; equivalent combinations of education and experience will be considered.

  • Professional designations such as PMP, LEED AP, and/or CCM preferred.

  • Demonstrated experience leading large, multidisciplinary teams and third-party project delivery resources.

  • Proven expertise in staffing, talent development, performance management, and leadership coaching.

  • Advanced ability to analyze complex financial and business data and implement innovative solutions.

  • Demonstrated leadership capability to influence executive stakeholders and drive regional results.

  • Strong financial acumen and advanced quantitative skills.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Project, Outlook); experience with Kahua Project Management software preferred.

  • Exceptional organizational capability and analytical mindset.

Turner & Townsend carefully considers multiple factors to determine compensation, including a candidate's education, training, and experience. The minimum salary for this position is $210,000 annually and the maximum salary for this position is $250,000 annually. The compensation that is offered to a successful candidate will depend on the candidate's skills, qualifications, and experience. Successful candidates will also be eligible for a discretionary bonus based on Turner & Townsend's applicable benefit program. This role will provide the following benefits: 401(K), Dental insurance, Health insurance, Life insurance, and Vision insurance.
