Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced and hard-working drywall hanger to join our team. The ideal candidate will be skilled in all drywall construction aspects as well as metal stud framing and acoustical ceiling installation, in both residential and commercial settings. Such a role requires an understanding of construction practices, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently or with a team.

Duties

• Demolition while maintaining a clean/organized workspace, adhering to safety protocols
• Basic carpentry skills
• Install drywall on walls/ceilings, framing, and finishing
• Install acoustical grid for ceilings
• Measure and cut drywall to fit specific areas
• Apply tape and compound to seams, corners, and screw holes
• Perform repairs on existing drywall (i.e. patching holes and cracks)
• Sand surfaces to prepare for finishes
• Collaborate with other trades on-site, to ensure project timelines are met
• Read and interpret job specifications

Qualifications

• Proven experience in drywall installation or related construction fields and acoustical ceiling installation
• Blueprint reading and understanding of construction schematics
• Familiarity with remodeling processes
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
• Attention to detail with a commitment to quality workmanship
• Problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot on-site challenges

Education/Experience and Requirements

• High school graduate/GED (required)
• Drywall hanging/Metal framing/Carpentry experience: 2 years (preferred)
• OSHA 10 Certification (preferred)
• Valid driver's license
• Tool supply and transportation
• Ability to travel throughout Connecticut to various jobs
• Ability to work on your feet for 8-hour shift
• Ability to lift a minimum of 50lbs
