Join our clients team in Roanoke, VA, as an Estimator III, a senior-level role designed for a technical expert capable of navigating our most complex bidding opportunities. You will operate with a high degree of autonomy, using your advanced knowledge of electrical and construction sectors to deliver precise cost estimates and highly competitive proposals. Beyond technical calculation, you will act as a subject matter expert on key customer standards and historical quote data to drive departmental success. We are looking for a seasoned professional with over five years of experience who thrives in a fast-paced environment and excels at maintaining professional relationships with both internal stakeholders and external vendors.

responsibilities:
- Manages the full lifecycle of complex bids and proposals with minimal oversight
- Translates technical one-line diagrams into accurate equipment and material lists
- Identifies project discrepancies and builds detailed lists of technical clarifications
- Leverages deep customer insight to align pricing and scope with specific client expectations
- Sources and negotiates quotes from subcontractors and suppliers for total job costing
- Mentors the bidding team by maintaining accurate cost databases for shelters and labor
- Reviews historical quote opportunities to predict lead times and pricing trends accurately
- Serves as a primary technical contact for Business Development Managers on high-stakes bids
- Oversees the final acknowledgement of purchase orders against original written proposals
