What To Expect
As a Tesla Equipment Maintenance Technician, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the operational availability of a wide array of manufacturing equipment. You will apply your technical skills by installing, maintaining and repairing mechanical and electrical systems, factory automation and robotics. You will work with the highest caliber process and equipment engineering teams in improving equipment reliability and minimizing or eliminating downtime. Tesla's Equipment Maintenance Technicians are also the first-responding problem solvers who manage machine breakdown recoveries to keep production running.

What You'll Do

Day to day coverage of production line equipment: respond to alarms, breakdowns, and Production requests quickly and efficiently to minimize downtime Diagnose equipment failures, find the root cause and communicate actions taken to the rest of the team Take initiative to improve PM documents and schedules, under the direction of the Maintenance Supervisor and Leads Perform major equipment repairs and rebuilds, (some weekends and holidays required) Use manufacturing systems effectively (MES, Spares Inventory, Issue Tracking) Work with Process and Equipment engineering and other cross functional groups to resolve maintenance issues, improve equipment reliability, review procedures, and minimize equipment downtimeFollow all aspects of Maintenance Safety protocol (LOTO, 5-S, Arc Flash, etc.), to ensure that the maintenance team operates safely at all times, always leading by example

What You'll Bring

3+ years of experience maintaining industrial equipment and automation, or as an Automotive Technician, or technical military experience in lieu of degree, or equivalent experienceStrong Allen Bradley PLC experience highly desiredFanuc and or Kuka robot experience is a plusAreas of specialization may include one or more of the following: electrical/electronics, mechanical/machining, or automation/PLC/roboticsSkilled at troubleshooting automation, conveyance, and electromechanical systemsAble to read and interpret basic mechanical drawings and electrical schematicsMust have command of English Language, both written and verbal demands

Physical Demands
Ability to perform physically demanding work for extended periods of time, up to 12 hours a dayAbility to stand and walk for up to 12 hours/day, including over varied and uneven terrainFrequently and repetitively, lift, push and carry up to 50 lbs., including the ability to carry 20 lbs. up and down stairsFrequently and repetitively, bend, lift and reach to install partsStoop, lay, bend, reach, squat, kneel, crouch, twist and crawl for extended periods of time, including up to 12 hours/dayClimb and maintain balance on ladders, scaffolding or other high structuresAbility to find issues in a work process and receive safety signals using sight, touch, and hearingWearing Personal Protective Equipment, including but not limited to: safety glasses, safety shoes, bump cap and adhering to prescribed safety rules and guidelines
