Hours: 44 hours/week, Mon.-Fri. 8 hours/day, Sat. 4 hours/day, 8:00 A.M. - 5:00 P.M.

Employer may request but cannot require workers to work on their Sabbath. The nature of farm work may require workers to work after dark and possibly weekends depending on weather conditions. Hours offered may vary based on factors such as weather or other unpredictable variables that impact the farm's operation.

Job Duties: Worker will be required to perform a variety of duties consistent with SOC Code 45-2092, Farmworkers and Laborers, Crop, Nursery, and Greenhouse. Duties may include participating in the inspection, grading, sorting, storage, and post-harvest treatment of crops, including working with bins and augers to load carts and trailers. Workers will repair and maintain farm vehicles, implements, and mechanical equipment.

Workers will operate 4WD articulated tractors and tractor-drawn machinery, such as field cultivators, to plow, harrow, and fertilize soil, and to plant, cultivate, spray, and harvest crops including corn, soybeans, and sugar beets. Duties also include loading agricultural inputs and driving trucks to transport materials to fields, as well as loading and transporting harvested crops to storage facilities such as elevators, bins, silos, piles, or bags.

Additional responsibilities include cleaning work areas, maintaining farm grounds and landscaping, regulating crop or storage conditions as needed, and repairing farm buildings, fences, and other structures.

The employer maintains a drug and alcohol-free workplace. Upon hire, workers may be subject to random drug testing at no cost to the worker. A positive test result or failure to comply with testing requirements may result in immediate termination of employment.

Minimum Education Required

No High School Diploma or GED required.

Minimum Experience Required

Two (2) months of recent and verifiable experience required for the job duties listed.

Worker must be able to speak and understand English.

Worker must be able to obtain a valid driver's license upon hire and maintain a clean driving record.

Worker must be able to lift up to 75 pounds.

Worker must be able to perform work that requires exposure to extreme temperatures, extensive pushing or pulling, sitting or walking, frequent stooping or bending over, and repetitive movements.

Additional Compensation

Employer may, at the company's sole discretion, pay workers at a rate above the minimum required and/or provide additional compensation such as bonuses, fixed salaries, PTO, insurance, incentive pay, or other benefits to any worker employed under this job order based on lawful, non-discriminatory factors including skill, performance, tenure with the employer, licensing, training, punctuality, or prior related experience.

As required for all workers in Minnesota, hours worked in excess of 48 hours in a work week will be paid at the rate of 1.5 times the regular rate of pay.

Job Benefits

EMPLOYER ASSURANCES: Work guaranteed for 3/4 of contract period, starting with date of arrival at work site. Employer provides free housing for workers whose residence is beyond normal commuting distance. Employer pays inbound transportation and subsistence to work site upon 50% completion of work contract for workers whose residence is beyond normal commuting distance. Daily subsistence will be provided at a rate of at least $16.28 per day during travel to a maximum of $68.00 per day with receipts. Required work-related tools and supplies provided free of charge by employer.

Effective Jan 1, 2024, per MN State Statute, an employee will earn one hour of paid sick and safe time for every 30 hours worked, up to at least 48 hours of accrued Earned Sick and Safe Time (ESST) per year, provided the employee works a minimum of 80 hours in a calendar year.
