Job Summary:
Our laboratory investigates neurobiological mechanisms underlying women's mental health and
impact of hormones on human brain development, with the goal of advancing understanding of
conditions that disproportionately affect women across the lifespan.
About the Role
This position offers hands-on exposure to translational neuroscience research and is well-suited
to a student interested in psychiatry, neurology, OB-GYN, or academic medicine.
Key Responsibilities
Maintain general laboratory operations, including reagent preparation, inventory management,
and equipment upkeep. Perform immunohistochemistry (IHC) staining on tissue sections under
the supervision of senior lab members. Capture, organize, and catalog microscope images for
downstream analysis. Maintain accurate records in laboratory notebooks and digital databases.
Outreach to pediatric, ObGyn and psychiatric practices for patient enrollment. Shipping of
samples.
Minimum Qualifications:Must be a current student enrolled at Upstate Medical University and approved for financial aid through the Student Financial Aid office at Upstate.
Preferred Qualifications:Negotiable based on class schedule
Salary Range/Pay Rate:$17/hour
