Job Description

As a Urology Oncologist at Allina Health, you will join a dedicated team passionate about providing transformative and enhanced care for the many individuals diagnosed with cancer each year in the Minneapolis/St. Paul area. Our team is committed to the Allina Health Cancer Institute’s vision of being a premier cancer program in the region. We are currently expanding our program and are seeking a board-certified/board-eligible Urology Oncologist to join the institute.

    Our own multi-center research program with the ability for investigator- initiated, industry-sponsored, and cooperative group clinical trials  (Phase 1-3)
  • In-house genomic laboratory supporting personalized cancer treatment
  • Industry-leading integrative oncology and high-risk cancer surveillance programs
  • The use of artificial intelligence tools for documentation, charting, and supporting cancer diagnosis and treatment.
  • Accredited by ACS, CoC, NAPBC, and APEx

Clinical Responsibilities: 

  • Conducts patient consultations, assessments; educate patients and families regarding urologic cancers and treatment options.
  • Detects and treats cancers of the urinary tract and male reproductive organs, such as bladder, prostate, kidney, testicular cancer, penile cancer and other therapeutic approaches.
  • Prescribes and administers treatments, including certain chemo/immuno therapies hormonal therapies and other targeted therapies; monitor patient progress and adjust treatment plans as necessary.
  • Collaborates with a multidisciplinary team including general surgical oncologists, medical oncologists, urologists, general surgeons, and primary care physicians.
  • Facilitates patient access to medical care through appropriate referrals; Foster collaborative relationships with referring providers, within and outside, Allina to ensure optimal patient care and further development of the service line.
  • Facilitates patient access to medical care through appropriate referrals.
  • Engages in continuous professional development to stay current with advancements in the field
  • Remains informed about clinical trial opportunities and willing to partake in clinical trials and research initiatives as deemed appropriate.
  • Contributes to the development of clinical guidelines and best practices through committee involvement and quality and continuous improvement efforts

Required Qualifications:

  • Completion of Doctor of Medicine (MD)/Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) program or foreign equivalent from an approved school of medicine
  • Completion of urology residency and board eligible/board certified in Urology
  • Completed an SUO or other accredited fellowship/advanced training in Urologic Oncology

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with Epic Electronic Medical Record
  • Robotic training and experience

Licenses/Certifications: 

  • Licensed Physician - MN Board of Medical Practice required upon hire
  • Must meet at least ONE of the requirements below:
    ◦ BLS certification from the American Heart Association
    ◦ BLS certification from the American Red Cross
    ◦ Allina in-house BLS training (within 90 days of hire)
  • Drug Enforcement Agency Certificate required upon hire
  • Prescription Monitoring Program required upon hire
  • National Provider Identifier required upon hire
