This position:- Use high level of skill to operate specialized MRI equipment to produce computer-generated diagnostic images which aid radiologists in diagnosing a wide variety of diseases and disorders.
- Perform procedures at a technical level requiring sound understanding of anatomical positioning and physiology.
- Demonstrate a high degree of technical competency and with the ability to act with initiative and ingenuity with minimal supervision.
What you will do in this position:- Review orders prior to the day of procedure to ensure accuracy and to avoid delay in patient care.
- Provide excellent patient care by educating and preparing patients for their procedure and MR safety while utilizing effective communication.
- Obtain and document accurate patient medical history to assist radiologist’s interpretation.
- Ensure patient comfort and safety for the duration of their procedure.
- Perform MRI procedures as required based on physician’s order.
- Perform complex tasks associated with the operation of MRI and related coils to obtain highest quality images of the anatomy being scanned.
- Start I.V., load and operate power injector, and administer contrast media as directed and per protocol.
- Complete exam in hospital information system.
- Clean and maintain all imaging equipment.
- May also assist with mentoring and/or training students, new hires.
Education & Experience Qualifications- Requires one of the following:
- Associate’s Degree in Radiologic Technology, OR
- Certificate of MRI technology certification program (required)
- 1+ year of MRI experience is preferred

Licenses and Certifications- Magnetic Resonance Imaging - American Registry Radiologic Technologist ARRT (MR) certification required or registry eligible (if eligible must obtain MR certification within 24 months of hire or transfer date). Required
- Basic Life Support Certified - American Heart Association is required within 30 days of hire. Recertification every two years is Required
- South Carolina Radiation Quality Standards Association certified. Preferred
