Fox News Audio is looking for an experienced, high-energy Multiplatform Sports Reporter to join our powerhouse team. We need a journalist who lives at the intersection of audio and video—someone who can navigate and deliver breaking sports news and cover a wide range of sports stories for all our major platforms: Fox News Headlines 24/7, Syndicated Radio, Podcasts, and FOX Talk Radio. A SNAPSHOT OF YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES
Cover breaking sports news, events, stories, and scores across multiple FOX News Audio platforms multiple times an hour
Research, write, produce, edit and report sports stories and segments, including occasional video packages, taped and live on air
Source media for stories that resonate with the FOX News audience, aggregating with complete and proper attribution
Pursue original and exclusive stories with headlines and angles in mind, working closely with contacts and sources
Collaborate closely with editors
Travel and report from the field on occasion
Arrive to work prepared with story ideas, pitches, and headlines in mind
Communicate with management regarding story development while working alongside news managers, assignment editors and producers to generate news packages
Cultivate unique sound and interviews for platforms
Conduct interviews on live radio stations nationwide when requested
Take part in long-form special coverage of breaking sports stories
Must be able to work independently, have outstanding time management skills and complete required assignments on deadline
WHAT YOU WILL NEED
5+ years national or major market reporting experience
Substantial experience covering sports and have the desire to present the sports news of the day quickly and accurately to a large listening audience
Breaking news experience in a radio newsroom and/or television control room
Strong digital journalism skills
Working knowledge of audio editing software
Solid news judgement & a passion for accuracy
Excellent writing, producing and communication skills
Collaborate closely with editors and fellow reporters
Ability to work shifts in a 24/7 environment
At times, shift schedule may temporarily adjust to cover major weekend sporting events
Bachelor’s degree preferred
