Job Description
We are looking for an Associate Fund Accountant to join our client's team in either Milwaukee, WI or Tempe, AZ. This isn't just a "behind-the-scenes" role—you are the engine that keeps our mutual fund operations running. Responsibilities
Manage the end-to-end accounting lifecycle for a diverse portfolio of mutual funds, ensuring general ledger integrity and the timely production of daily Net Asset Value (NAV) calculations.
Daily Operations & Workflow - Facilitate daily financial data input and execute rigorous checks on automated entries to prepare for peer review.
- Process client pricing files, verifying all critical data points and system checks are completed before market close.
- Finalize end-of-day reports, mill rate determinations, and NAV calculations under strict deadlines.
Reconciliations & Accounting - Perform complex daily reconciliations (cash, position, custody, and prime broker) to ensure internal records align with external statements.
- Execute general ledger functions, including corporate actions, expense accruals, and payment postings.
- Conduct portfolio pricing analysis to identify and resolve valuation discrepancies.
Collaboration & Compliance - Serve as a key contact for advisors, transfer agencies, and internal teams to resolve operational hurdles and gather missing data.
- Lead professional inquiries regarding audit or financial tasks using fluent accounting terminology.
- Ensure all functions comply with SEC regulations and GAAP principles.
