Your Role And Responsibilities
IBM and RH are investing in the Massachusetts ecosystem, launching an accelerator at Red Hat’s Boston Seaport location, and seeking a strategic, entrepreneurial, and founder-focused Investment Team Member to help shape investment strategy, drive early-stage deal flow, and forge deep relationships with visionary founders, top-tier venture firms, and IBM business leaders. The ideal candidate thrives in fast-paced, high-impact environments and brings a passion for corporate innovation, emerging technologies, and strategic investing aligned to IBM’s core capabilities.
Key Responsibilities
Overseeing the full investment lifecycle from sourcing to deal close
Execute investment theses aligned with IBM and RH’s core capabilities
Cultivate strong relationships with startup founders, VCs, accelerators, ecosystem partners, and business leaders
Partner with IBM and RH business units to identify strategic investment opportunities
Represent the Open Accelerator in external forums, conferences, and board engagements
Preferred Education
Associate's Degree/College Diploma
Required Technical And Professional Expertise
Required Experience/Skills:
10+ years of experience in venture capital, corporate venture capital, startups, or accelerator/incubator leadership
Deep understanding of emerging technologies, enterprise innovation, pre-seed startup landscape, and founder journey
Strong network in the startup and VC ecosystem
Proven ability to lead programs, manage stakeholders, and deliver results within the enterprise
Exceptional strategic thinking, communication, and relationship-building skills
Experience leading high-performing teams and navigating complex corporate environments
Passionate about supporting diverse founders and building inclusive innovation ecosystems
