We are adding Project Engineers to our Central Division of Kiewit to support our growing Infrastructure project portfolio around the country. You could be supporting major highway infrastructure projects, bridge projects, rail/transit, aviation, water/wastewater and power. Our Central teams are the first construction team to the site, performing site prep for the roads, bridges or industrial buildings. Our team performs mass grading/excavation, cut and fill, drainage, paving, underground piping and utility work, earthwork, site development, concrete form work, asphalt paving, and related activities.
As a Project Engineer, you will be responsible for the administrative and technical aspects of constructing a project, managing a team of field and cost engineers. In this role, you will be the main conduit of information between the Project or Construction Manager and the team for cost, revenue, cash flow information; and therefore, requires strong interpersonal and time management skills. Project Engineers may work as the Project Manager on some of our smaller projects and will be expected to develop the team below them.

Project Engineers for our Central district will support projects in the Rocky Mountain region, based in Lone Tree/Denver Colorado. You must be willing to go where the work is, as projects could be in any of the following states: CO, MO, MT, NM, KS, NE, IA, MN, WY, ND and SD). While on projects outside of the immediate Denver area, you are provided per diem and trips home.
Qualifications
• BS degree in construction management, construction engineering, or other related engineering disciplines plus a minimum of 5+ years’ field and project engineering work experience in self-performed construction, with a focus in heavy civil works/infrastructure. If no degree, must have at least 9+ years of experience in project engineering/field engineering functions, performing tasks as outlined above
• Minimum of 3+ years' experience managing engineers with exposure to cost control and scheduling management, as well as the ability to act as a managing project engineer on your assigned projects, providing leadership for other junior engineers.
• Ability to read, analyze and identify discrepancies on engineering plans, specifications, and contract documents
• Highly motivated, with a demonstrated passion for excellence and taking initiative
