Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP-BC) – Telehealth (Part-Time)

Position Overview

Release and Renew Mental Wellness, LLC is seeking a compassionate and experienced Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP-BC) to provide telehealth-based psychiatric services within an outpatient behavioral health practice.

This role offers a flexible, part-time schedule and the opportunity to deliver evidence-based, patient-centered care in a collaborative, multidisciplinary environment. RRMW utilizes an integrative model that combines medication management, behavioral health, and whole-person treatment approaches to support long-term outcomes.

Schedule & Compensation

• Employment Type: Part-Time 
• Status: W-2 or 1099 (based on preference and eligibility)
• Compensation: $85–$110 per hour or competitive per-visit rate 60/40-65/35 (based on experience)
• Work Location: Remote/Telehealth (must be licensed in Maryland)

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive psychiatric evaluations (intakes and follow-ups)
• Diagnose mental health conditions using DSM-5-TR criteria
• Prescribe and manage psychotropic medications within scope of practice
• Develop, implement, and monitor individualized treatment plans
• Provide medication education (risks, benefits, side effects, alternatives)
• Order and interpret laboratory and diagnostic testing as clinically indicated
• Assess level of care and coordinate referrals (e.g., higher levels of care)
• Provide brief supportive interventions and crisis assessment as appropriate
• Complete accurate and timely documentation within 24–48 hours
• Collaborate with therapists, case managers, and interdisciplinary team members

Compliance & Quality

• Maintain compliance with:
  • HIPAA and patient confidentiality standards
  • Maryland telehealth and prescribing regulations
  • COMAR outpatient mental health clinic requirements
  • CARF accreditation standards
• Ensure documentation reflects medical necessity, risk assessment, and treatment planning
• Participate in quality improvement and case review processes

Care Model & Collaboration

• Work within a multidisciplinary team environment
• Participate in case reviews and clinical consultations
• Coordinate care to support integrated, whole-person treatment
• Connect clients to appropriate internal and external resources

Qualifications

• Master's Degree in Nursing (MSN or higher)
• Board Certification: PMHNP-BC (required)
• Active Maryland Nurse Practitioner license with prescriptive authority
• DEA registration (or eligibility prior to start)
• Minimum 1 year of psychiatric or behavioral health experience preferred

Clinical Experience Preferred

• Mood disorders (depression, bipolar spectrum)
• Anxiety disorders
• ADHD
• Trauma and stress-related disorders
• Substance use disorders (preferred)

Skills & Competencies

• Strong clinical judgment and diagnostic skills
• Ability to develop effective, realistic treatment plans
• Clear communication and patient education skills
• Proficiency with electronic medical records (EMR/EHR)
• Ability to manage caseload independently in a remote setting
• Commitment to culturally responsive, patient-centered care
