Job Description and Duties

Under the close supervision of the Deputy Manager I, with guidance from the Secretary Manager III (CEO), the Office Assistant (General) will provide office and clerical support to the administration office.  The incumbent will perform daily tasks such as preparing basic rental agreements, reports, notices and receipting of funds received in the office. The incumbent may work under varying degrees of pressure, must make appropriate decisions and meet established deadlines.   

The essential functions include, but are not limited to:

  • Provide clerical support to the Administrative Office.

  • Greet visitors and assist with inquiries, event scheduling, and payments for services.

  • Utilize computer, phone, fax, copy machine in daily operations.

  • Maintain filing, document preparation, cashiering and general reporting.

Working Conditions

The primary duties will be indoors in the main office of the Fairgrounds. The incumbent will share an office with several employees, each with their own workstation. The work area will utilize standard office equipment such as a computer, printer, scanner, calculator, copy machine, phone system, typewriter, and fax machine.


Frequently, the incumbent will be required to work outdoors when overseeing the set-up for exhibits and events or showing customers the layout of the fairgrounds. The incumbent is required to work nights, weekends, and holidays during the annual Fair.

  • Skill and ability to present error-free documents and catch errors in existing documents

  • Communicates clearly and effectively, demonstrating tact and professionalism in all verbal and written interactions

  • Ability to work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders
