Chatham University is seeking a dedicated and professional Security Officer to join our Public Safety Department.
The Security Officer is responsible for maintaining a safe and secure environment for students, faculty, staff, visitors, and university property. Responsibilities include conducting routine patrols, responding to incidents, and providing exceptional customer service to the campus community.
Conduct routine patrols on foot or by vehicle to ensure the safety and security of personnel, buildings, and equipment.
Maintain a visible security presence and escort services as needed.
Conduct periodic checks of emergency equipment (call boxes, lighting, etc.) and report malfunctions.
Secure campus buildings and classrooms by ensuring doors are locked.
High school diploma or equivalent.
Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
Ability to pass a background check.
Availability to work flexible schedules, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
1–2 years of experience in campus safety, private security, or related field preferred.
$22.60/hour 40-hour work week.
