Job Description

Bakery is looking for a Senior Designer to help shape brand identities, campaigns, and cultural work for highly discerning clients. This role is about craft and range: taking an idea from concept to a finished, production-ready system, across print, packaging, digital, and environmental work. You'll work closely with Creative Directors, Art Directors, Writers, and Strategists, and you'll be expected to hold your own in a room defending the work. * Must be employable in the USA and work on-site in Austin, TX *

Bakery is an independent creative and culture agency designed to ignite people's obsession in great brands. From our headquarters in Austin, TX, we work with Nike, Grillo's Pickles and Cheetos to build brand worlds, campaigns, packaging, and the kind of craft that makes people stop. Bakery is a 4x AdAge Small Agency of the Year.

  • Work closely with Creative Directors, Art Directors, Writers, and Strategists to craft breakthrough work.
  • Stay on top of design trends, typography, color theory, and cultural movements to ensure Bakery’s work remains fresh and category-defining.
  • Ensure all work is crafted to the highest standards—clean, effective, and impossible to ignore.
  • Manage multiple projects efficiently, keeping deadlines, budgets, and client expectations in check.
  • Present work clearly and persuasively, making a strong case for design decisions.

Requirements

  • An impressive portfolio of work created for leading US and global brands. Extra attention given to submissions with D&AD, One Show, or Cannes Lions recognition.
  • 6+ years of experience in a top-tier agency or in-house creative team.
  • A well-curated portfolio that showcases branding, visual storytelling, campaign work, and exceptional craft.
  • Expertise in Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign.)
  • Strong illustration, typography, and layout skills with a meticulous eye for detail.
  • Experience working across print, digital, packaging, and environmental design.
  • The ability to juggle multiple projects and thrive in a fast-moving, high-output environment.
  • A systematic design mindset—you don’t just make things look good, you make them work in an efficient and effective system.

Benefits

  • Competitive insurance coverage, inclusive of medical, dental, and vision
  • 401k Retirement with 3% employer matching
  • Open PTO Policy
  • 2 weeks Work From Anywhere (WFA)
  • 13 weeks paid Maternity and Paternity leave
  • Pet-Friendly Office
