Job Summary:

The Senior Systems Testing/QA Specialist is responsible for leading and executing comprehensive testing strategies for large-scale enterprise systems. This role involves planning, developing, and implementing test plans and automated scripts to ensure software quality and compliance with industry standards, including AODA. The specialist collaborates with cross-functional teams to validate system functionality, performance, and security through various testing methodologies within Agile, Scrum, and Waterfall environments.

Responsibilities:

• Advise on testing strategies, test plans, tool selection, and resource allocation.
• Plan and organize testing efforts for GUI and non-GUI systems, including integration, stress, and user acceptance testing.
• Develop, execute, and maintain test plans, test cases, and automated test scripts.
• Perform functional, integration, system, regression, performance, and security testing.
• Identify, document, and track defects using tools such as ALM, JIRA, Bugzilla, and Azure DevOps.
• Collaborate closely with developers, business analysts, and project managers to clarify requirements and resolve issues.
• Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines and maintain testing documentation and quality metrics.
• Ensure compliance with Accessibility for Ontarians with Disability Act (AODA) and other regulatory requirements.
• Participate actively in Agile ceremonies including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, and retrospectives.
• Provide input for user manuals and release notes related to quality assurance.

Required Skills & Certifications:

• 10+ years of experience in software testing within enterprise-level IT environments and large-scale systems.
• Proficient in manual and automated testing tools and frameworks (e.g., Selenium, Postman, Micro Focus UFT).
• Strong knowledge of Agile, Scrum, and Waterfall testing methodologies.
• Extensive experience with AODA testing and compliance standards.
• Experience with performance testing tools such as JMeter or LoadRunner.
• Familiarity with defect tracking tools like JIRA, Azure DevOps, ALM, Bugzilla.
• Strong understanding of databases including SQL and Oracle.
• Knowledge of cloud platforms such as Azure and AWS.
• Experience with CI/CD integration tools such as Jenkins, Git, or GitLab.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, communication, and interpersonal skills.

Preferred Skills & Certifications:

• Experience in at least one programming language.
• Familiarity with scripting languages like Python, JavaScript, or Bash for automation.
• Experience testing Commercial Off-the-Shelf (COTS) applications.
• Knowledge of information retrieval packages and object-oriented testing methods.
• Experience with public sector quality assurance standards and practices.
• Previous experience working in public sector or OPS environments.

• Strong adherence to quality assurance standards and regulatory compliance.
• Ability to work under pressure with aggressive timelines and adapt to change.
• Collaboration in large, cross-functional teams and participation in Agile ceremonies.
• Onsite presence required for 5 days.

Scheduling:

• Standard work schedule with participation in Agile sprint cycles.
• May require flexible hours to meet project deadlines and testing cycles.
