Job Summary:

The Senior Systems Testing/QA Specialist is responsible for leading and executing comprehensive testing activities within enterprise-level IT projects. This role focuses on developing test strategies, plans, and cases aligned with business and technical requirements, ensuring the quality and integrity of workflow-driven applications, migration projects, and content management systems. The specialist will utilize both manual and automated testing approaches, working closely with Agile teams to manage defect lifecycles and support UAT coordination.

Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement Test Strategies, Test Plans, and detailed Test Cases based on business and technical requirements.
• Execute all phases of system testing including functional, integration, regression, and user acceptance testing (UAT).
• Test workflow-driven applications, particularly those developed with IBM Business Automation Workflow (BAW).
• Perform API testing using REST and SOAP protocols, validating request/response formats, authentication, and error handling.
• Conduct backend database testing including PL/SQL job validation, data integrity, and performance checks.
• Develop and execute automated test scripts using Selenium and integrate automation into CI/CD pipelines.
• Manage defect lifecycle activities: logging, triaging, tracking, root cause analysis, and resolution coordination.
• Validate data mapping and transformation rules during migration projects and ensure business rule continuity.
• Conduct security and access control testing to verify user permissions, data protection, and authentication mechanisms.
• Perform AODA and WCAG compliance testing for WebUI and document accessibility.
• Test OpenText Content Management Systems focusing on metadata accuracy, workflows, version control, and access permissions.
• Collaborate with stakeholders for requirement walkthroughs, defect review meetings, and UAT coordination.

Required Skills & Certifications:

• Minimum 5 years of experience in systems testing/QA within enterprise IT projects.
• Proficiency in developing Test Strategies, Test Plans, and detailed Test Cases.
• Hands-on experience with Agile Scrum methodologies and sprint-based development cycles.
• Expertise in automated testing using Selenium or equivalent frameworks.
• Strong skills in API testing (REST and SOAP) and backend database testing including PL/SQL.
• Experience with IBM Business Automation Workflow (BAW) and workflow-driven application testing.
• Proficient use of Azure DevOps or similar tools for test and defect management.
• Experience managing the full defect lifecycle and performing root cause analysis.
• Knowledge of security, access control testing, and AODA/WCAG compliance standards.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.

Preferred Skills & Certifications:

• Experience testing OpenText Content Management Systems.
• Familiarity with IBM Rational Software Architect, IBM WebSphere Application Server, and IBM Operational Decision Manager.
• Knowledge of Java Enterprise Edition, JavaScript, VB Script, HTML, XML, and AJAX.
• Experience with CI/CD integration of automated tests.
• Background in migration-based project testing including data transformation validation.
• Experience with IBM AppScan or other security testing tools.

Special Considerations:

• Must be able to work within Agile Scrum teams and adapt to sprint-based development cycles.
• May require coordination with multiple stakeholders including UAT leads and defect review boards.
• Testing may involve secure environments requiring adherence to access control policies.

Scheduling:

• Standard full-time schedule aligned with Agile sprint cycles; flexibility may be required to support UAT phases and defect resolution meetings.
