We are seeking an experienced ServiceNow Developer to join our team at South Star in our offices located in Navi Mumbai. As a ServiceNow Developer , you will be responsible for designing, developing, and implementing solutions on the ServiceNow platform to meet the needs of our clients' organizations. You will provide support to ensure the effective utilization of ServiceNow capabilities. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background, hands-on experience, excellent problem-solving skills, and a deep understanding of IT service management ( ITSM ), IT operations management ( ITOM ), and CMDB processes.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Design, develop, configure, and enhance ServiceNow applications and platform capabilities based on approved technical and business requirements.
  • Develop custom applications, modules, tables, forms, fields, workflows, Flow Designer flows, business rules, client scripts, UI policies, Script Includes, and scheduled jobs.
  • Translate functional requirements and user stories into technical designs, development tasks, and scalable ServiceNow solutions.
  • Customize ServiceNow applications while following platform development standards, security requirements, and configuration-over-customization principles.
  • Develop and maintain integrations between ServiceNow and external platforms using REST/SOAP APIs , Integration Hub, MID Server, web services, and authentication mechanisms.
  • Develop Service Catalog items, record producers, catalog client scripts, variable sets, approvals, and fulfillment workflows.
  • Configure and enhance ServiceNow processes across modules such as Incident, Problem, Change, Request, CMDB , ITOM , HRSD, and other implemented applications.
  • Develop notifications, events, escalations, and automation logic to support service delivery requirements.
  • Create and maintain reports, dashboards, Performance Analytics components, and data visualizations.
  • Implement role-based access controls, ACLs, data policies, and other platform security controls.
  • Perform unit, integration, regression, and defect testing to validate the stability, security, performance, and reliability of developed solutions.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve defects involving scripts, workflows, integrations, user interfaces, data processing, and platform configurations.
  • Perform code reviews and optimize scripts, queries, flows, and integrations for performance, maintainability, and scalability.
  • Package and promote application changes across development, test, and production environments using update sets, application repositories, source control, and deployment pipelines.
  • Support ServiceNow upgrades and patching by conducting code scans, reviewing skipped changes, resolving customization conflicts, and completing regression testing.
  • Collaborate with architects, business analysts, product owners, QA engineers, and integration teams throughout the software development lifecycle.
  • Maintain technical documentation, including solution designs, integration specifications, data mappings, configuration records, deployment instructions, and support procedures.
  • Evaluate new ServiceNow capabilities and recommend platform enhancements that reduce technical debt and improve automation, usability, and maintainability.

The position has the following requirements:

  • BS/MS in Information Systems, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electronic Engineering, or related field.
  • Minimum of 5+ years of hands-on experience in designing, configuring, and implementing solutions on the ServiceNow platform.
  • Strong knowledge of IT service management ( ITSM ) processes, including incident management, change management, problem management, and request fulfillment.
  • Proficient in ServiceNow development, including custom application development, scripting ( JavaScript ), workflow configurations, UI policies, and data imports/exports.
  • Experience with ServiceNow ITSM modules, such as Incident Management, Problem Management, Change Management, Service Catalog, and CMDB .
  • Familiarity with ServiceNow integration techniques, such as REST/SOAP web services , MID Server, and import sets.
  • Solid understanding of relational databases, with the ability to write complex queries and perform data analysis.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues.
  • Experience with implementing ITIL standards.
  • ITIL certification is a plus.
  • ServiceNow certifications, such as Certified Implementation Specialist ( CIS ), Certified Application Developer ( CAD ), or Certified System Administrator ( CSA ), are highly desired.
  • Very good written and verbal communication skills in English.
