POSITION OVERVIEW:

Kassouf is seeking highly motivated accounting students for our Summer 2027 Accounting Internship , an early‑pipeline opportunity designed for students interested in building a long‑term career in public accounting at a regional firm .

This internship is intended for students who will be sophomores during the 2026–2027 academic year and is structured as a precursor to a senior‑year internship . Successful interns may be invited back for a future internship, which can lead to full‑time opportunities with the firm.

Our internships are primarily based in the Birmingham area , with limited opportunities in other Alabama markets depending on firm needs and candidate fit. This opportunity will take place in Birmingham.

ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS (READ CAREFULLY):

Applicants must meet all of the following criteria:

  • Will be classified as a sophomore during the 2026–2027 academic year
  • Expected graduation of December 2028 or Spring 2029
  • Pursuing or intending to declare a major in Accounting
    • Students currently classified as Pre‑Business or Undeclared who intend to declare Accounting are encouraged to apply
  • Interested in exploring a regional public accounting firm and a potential senior‑year internship
  • Willing to complete a required pre‑screening questionnaire

Applicants who do not meet these requirements will not be considered.

WHAT YOU’LL GAIN:

This internship is designed to provide broad exposure to public accounting and life at a regional firm. By rotating through four of our firm's major departments (Healthcare Tax, Business Services Group Tax, Assurance Services, and Trust & Estate Planning), interns will have opportunities to:

  • Gain exposure to a variety of clients and industries
  • Work alongside professionals across multiple service lines
  • Learn directly from firm leadership and mentors
  • Develop a strong foundation for future internships and career opportunities
  • Build relationships within a collaborative, team‑oriented environment
