Job Description

Join a dedicated team in Shreveport, LA as a UPS Technician II, where you will play a key role in supporting the reliability and performance of Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS) systems and related battery systems. This position offers the opportunity to work hands-on with critical power infrastructure, assisting with installations, maintenance, and troubleshooting to ensure continuous operation for essential facilities. Responsibilities

• Assist with the installation, startup, and certification of UPS systems and battery systems.
• Support preventative and scheduled maintenance activities for UPS and related power systems.
• Help diagnose and repair routine and emergency issues with minimal disruption to customers.
• Work under supervision on equipment including UPS systems, battery systems, PDUs, ATS, and AC/DC rectifiers.
• Follow operational, maintenance, and emergency procedures to ensure safety and compliance.
• Interpret and work from schematic diagrams, sketches, and verbal instructions.
• Communicate effectively with team members and customers, both verbally and in writing.
• Promote a positive team environment and uphold safety standards on job sites and in the operations center.
• Recognize and respond appropriately to situations where productivity or safety may be at risk.
• Balance multiple tasks and priorities in a dynamic work environment.
• Maintain regular and reliable attendance.
• Perform other duties as assigned by Services Management.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Basic knowledge of electrical and mechanical systems related to UPS and DC systems.
• Familiarity with major OEMs such as Eaton, Mitsubishi, Schneider, APC, GE, and Emerson is a plus.
• Understanding of basic AC/DC theory, electronic components, and circuitry, or willingness to learn.
• Ability to connect series, parallel, and series-parallel battery strings.
• Knowledge of torque values, torque-mark application, and visual inspection of battery cabinet installations.
• Experience or training in the use of digital multimeters, amp clamps, flexible CTs, and battery testing tools such as the Alber Cellcorder is beneficial.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team and exercise good judgment in the field.
• US Citizenship required.
