Job Title: Full-Charge Construction Bookkeeper
Location: New Albany, IN
Job Type: Full-Time (40 hours/week) 1099

Salary: $25.00/hour

Job Summary:

Our client is seeking a disciplined and detail-oriented Full-Charge Construction Bookkeeper to manage and oversee all financial operations with accuracy and accountability. This role plays a critical part in maintaining financial integrity, handling full-cycle accounting functions, and supporting construction job costing. The ideal candidate will also assist with payroll processing and employee onboarding, ensuring a smooth and professional experience for new hires while supporting overall team operations.

Responsibilities:

Financial Management (AP/AR & Bill Pay):

• Manage full-cycle Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable
• Execute weekly bill pay, ensuring accuracy and timeliness
• Reconcile bank and credit card statements monthly

Job Costing & Financial Tracking:

• Accurately assign labor, materials, and equipment costs to specific projects
• Maintain detailed job costing records to track project profitability
• Identify and report budget variances to leadership

Payroll & Onboarding:

• Process payroll for field and office staff accurately and on time
• Ensure proper allocation of field hours to job sites
• Coordinate new hire onboarding, including completion of I-9s, W-4s, and related documentation
• Support a positive onboarding experience aligned with company standards

Requirements:

• 3–5 years of bookkeeping experience (construction or trades industry preferred)
• Proven experience with job costing and project-based accounting
• Proficiency in QuickBooks (Desktop or Online) and Microsoft Excel
• Strong attention to detail with the ability to identify and resolve discrepancies
• Excellent organizational and time management skills
• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively
