Your Role And Responsibilities Your role and responsibilities: As an Investor at IBM Ventures, the venture capital arm of IBM, you will work directly with entrepreneurs to accelerate the growth of category‑defining companies by providing capital, strategic guidance, and access to IBM’s global platform. You will contribute to the full investment lifecycle, from thesis development and sourcing to due diligence, execution, and portfolio support.
You will also collaborate closely with cross‑functional leaders across IBM to identify strategic alignments, support partnership opportunities, and strengthen IBM Ventures’ presence within the broader startup ecosystem. The ideal candidate is intellectually curious, relationship‑driven, and excited to represent IBM in a fast‑moving entrepreneurial environment.

Required Technical And Professional Expertise Primary Responsibilities include:
- Founder & Portfolio Support: Build and own the relationships with founders to help them navigate IBM’s resources, technology, and teams.
- Partnership Development: Identify and facilitate collaboration opportunities between portfolio companies, IBM business units, and enterprise customers.
- Ecosystem & Event Execution: Plan and support high‑impact events, workshops, and ecosystem engagements that elevate IBM Ventures and portfolio companies.
- Marketing & Communications: Support press, content, and visibility efforts—including announcements, storytelling, and digital presence.
- Value‑Creation Programs: Develop and manage scalable programs such as mentorship networks, technology benefits, and partner offers.
Required Technical And Professional Expertise - 5+ years of experience in business development, client management, corporate partnerships, marketing, or related roles.
- Demonstrated success building and maintaining relationships with founders, executives, and cross‑functional stakeholders.
- Strong understanding of technology trends, startup ecosystems, innovation models, and business strategy.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to quickly learn and clearly articulate complex concepts.
- Proven ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑moving, dynamic environment.
Preferred Technical And Professional Experience Preferred technical and professional experience - Experience working in venture capital, corporate venture capital, an accelerator, or a high‑growth startup.
- Experience designing, planning, and executing ecosystem events, workshops, or founder‑centric programming.
