Somersett is a 2,391-acre master-planned golf community located in Northwest Reno and surrounded by the beautiful Sierra Nevada range to the west and south, and Peavine Peak to the north. Job Summary:
The Resort Supervisor provides administrative and operational support to management in overseeing seasonal employees and coordinating summer events. Acting as a liaison between staff and management, this role ensures smooth day-to-day operations by assisting with scheduling, training, event logistics, and administrative tasks. Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills are essential to support the success of summer programs and community events.

Duties/Responsibilities:
  • Assist management in scheduling, training, and overseeing seasonal staff, including lifeguards, food and beverage and event personnel.
  • Serve as a primary point of contact for seasonal employees, addressing questions, concerns, and ensuring clear communication of policies and expectations.
  • Support event planning and execution, coordinating logistics, supplies, and staff assignments.
  • Monitor and document staff attendance, shift changes, and performance under the direction of management.
  • Assist with administrative tasks such as record keeping, facility reservations, payroll processing, and payment handling.
  • Maintain accurate participation records and generate reports to assess event and program success.
  • Help ensure compliance with safety protocols, facility cleanliness, and proper use of recreational equipment.
  • Act as a liaison between staff, members, and management to address concerns and implement feedback.
  • Perform other administrative or operational tasks as assigned by management.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills to support staffing and event operations.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills to facilitate staff coordination and member interactions.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and ability to manage scheduling or reservation systems.
  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion and professionalism.
  • Problem-solving skills to assist with conflict resolution and daily operational challenges.
  • Prior experience in administrative support, customer service, or recreation management preferred.
Education and Experience:
  • At least three years of experience in aquatics, recreation, or related fields.
  • Associate degree preferred but not required.
  • Valid driver’s license with a satisfactory driving record.
  • Ability to obtain certifications, including American Red Cross Standard First Aid, CPR certification within two months of hire.
Physical Requirements:
  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Prolonged periods of standing, walking, and talking.
  • Must be able to lift up to 35 pounds.
  • Work requires the physical capacity to perform in diverse environments and adverse weather conditions.

Work Schedule:
This seasonal position requires a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays. Hours vary based on seasonal demands, with longer shifts during summer peak periods and shorter shifts as the season winds down .
